- Lattice field theories, in particular lattice gauge theories
- Simulation methods for lattice gauge theories: Monte-Carlo methods, diagrammatic methods, numerical solution of Schwinger-Dyson equations
- Properties of QCD vacuum in strong magnetic fields
- Entanglement, decoherence and thermalization in quantum systems
- Physics of graphene
